Our Task


The explosive growth of meth use in Utah, particularly among women of childbearing age, has drawn tremendous attention to the problems associated with meth use. State government, citizens, businesses and community leaders have joined together to solve this problem. In 2007, the Utah State Legislature passed the following measures as part of the Utah Methamphetamine Action Plan:

  • Implement Drug Offender Reform Act (DORA) Statewide
  • Increase Treatment Resources for Women and Children Statewide
  • Create and Implement a Utah Methamphetamine Public Awareness Campaign
  • Expand Funding for Drug and Crime Task Forces
  • Expand Drug Courts
  • Sustain Underage Drinking Prevention Media Campaign
  • Fund Meth Task Force Priority Initiatives
  • Control Precursors Used to Manufacture Methamphetamine
